Job Title: High School ChemistryTeacher

Plan, prepare and create instructional activities.
Conduct personalized support/tutorial services for students.
Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
Personalize instruction based on student learning needs.
Participate in ongoing training sessions.
Follow and create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Develop incentives to engage participants in class.
Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Follow the DESE State Teacher Evaluation System.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
AS A VIRTUAL TEACHER you will:
Teach synchronous and asynchronous coursework at the high school level under the direction of the Principal.
Lead students through successful synchronous and asynchronous course completion.
Foster a virtual environment conducive to learning.
Prioritize student needs so that each child may reach their fullest potential.
Partner with parents and colleagues to manage course goals, curriculum, and materials that best benefit the individual needs of each student.
Engage and nurture student learning and student relationships.
Teach engaging live, flipped classroom, and asynchronous lessons over a virtual platform.
Promote creativity and excitement in the virtual learning environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree
Appropriate MA state teaching licensure
Proficient in Microsoft and Google Docs
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Although mainly a virtual position, at times it is required to travel within and between assigned geographic areas to support students with MCAS testing, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in school activities.
An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g. learning management systems, web-based instructional tools)
Education and Experience:
DESE SEI Endorsement
Teaching (may include student teaching) experience preferred.
Experience working with the proposed age group.
Experience supporting adults and students in the use of technology.
An aptitude for instructional technology

Physical Requirements:
Minimal to light physical effort is generally required in performing duties in an office environment. This position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment at efficient speed and for lengthy periods of time. This position requires the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time. Ability to travel within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in school activities, open houses and orientations. This employee must be able to see details on a computer. Use their hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls Employee must be able to effectively communicate with numerous students at once by remote classroom participation including teaching, simultaneous computer work and hearing and seeing student and teacher responses. Employee must be able to interact with students and teachers in a myriad of situations including outings, video conferencing, face to face work and communication by technology.
